A group of butterflies is called a kaleidoscope.
This terminology strikes me as a stunning symbol of transformation and connection, one that really captures the spirit of what it means to be human. Just as no two butterflies are exactly the same, no two moments in our lives are, either.

In a kaleidoscope, the movement of each butterfly affects the pattern of the whole. Similarly, different parts of a person's life - mental health, physical health, experiences, environment, and relationships - are deeply interconnected. Treating the whole person means recognizing the merit of viewing our lives as kaleidoscopic and responding with an integrative approach.
To me, a kaleidoscope of butterflies illustrates hope. It reminds us that chaos can carry grace, that transition can bring beauty, and that our ever-changing journey is not only natural, but also necessary and wondrous. My hope is that together, we can create a safe space that promotes longterm healing for each piece of your kaleidoscope.

About
Hi! I'm Mary Garner.
I'm a licensed professional counselor focused on supporting individuals, primarily adults. I have a special interest in chronic or acute health challenges, anxiety, and trauma. My approach is grounded in somatic and holistic strategies that honor the mind-body connection, recognizing that healing is not only emotional and mental, but also deeply physical and spiritual.
My purpose is to remind you that you are not alone. Together, we will build resilience, find meaning, and discover coping strategies that help you live a fulfilling life, no matter what obstacles may arise.

In addition to private practice, I work as a contract therapist at Three Oaks Behavioral Health in Ridgeland, MS, where I facilitate group sessions for adolescents and adults.

"Pain is important: how we evade it, how we succumb to it, how we deal with it, how we transcend it."
-Audre Lorde
Health Issues

Whether you're dealing with a new diagnosis, chronic illness and/or pain, maternal issues, or medical trauma, you may feel like you're operating from survival mode. My goal is to reintegrate a sense of safety (in your mind, your body, and in the world), establish coping skills to effectively manage your presenting symptoms, and foster a sense of self you're proud of.
Focus Areas
Anxiety

Anxiety is one of the most human experiences we have in life. It can show up in many forms - persistent worry, panic attacks, social fears, or a constant sense of unease that never quite goes away. I believe in making sense of what you're feeling, getting to the root of your anxiety, and building tools to manage it in a way that actually works so you can engage in life with a renewed sense of hope.
Trauma

Trauma - a single experience or a history of adverse events - has the unique ability to impact all aspects of our lives. Because of this, I use integrative, evidence-based methods, mixing traditional talk therapy with movement and mindfulness techniques. I aim to treat the whole person and support emotional release, restore balance, and promote resilience.
